What a selection we have here... Mr Bean, Nirvana, Kylie, Tom Cruise, Guns N Roses, the kid from Terminator 2 and New Kids on the Block. Not sure who the guy is at the top but look at those funky glasses, the man has style for sure.

I realised I was yet to post something here from 1986, which also happens to be the year I was born. I would have loved to watch the process of putting these different Flower Fairy scenes together.

My sister had that black Puppy hand puppet and I remember getting one of those Crayola red cases for Christmas one year. I remember I used to like walking round the house like a business woman pretending it was my briefcase!

A look inside Kerrang mag, Jan 2002. 

During this time Kerrang was my bible and Garbage were and are my favourite band. As well as Shirley Mansons rage filled interview this issue also had a 100 reasons why 2002 will rock article. Most of the reasons were various bands upcoming albums, upcoming films (including Spider-Man, Signs, Vanilla Sky, Men in Black 2), the World Cup, various festivals, the K! awards, video game releases (Metal Gear Solid 2, Halo, Resident Evil remake, Dead or Alive 3, Mario Sunshine) and gadgets: new things called an iPod, XBox and Game Cube and bless the classic Babyliss Crazy Braid... maybe they needed to bolster the numbers?! 

Elsewhere in this issue there was a crossword (I don't even remember Kerrang doing crosswords...), Pandora still had blue hair, The Hives and New Found Glory live reviews, Queen Adreena supporting Mortiis! Someone angrily writing in the letters page about Britney throwing the devil horns on stage, and a full page ad for christian nu-metal band P.O.D. There's some great ads here I missed that I will have to scan.

Whenever someone complains about modern music being shit I always think of the great Shirley Manson quote from this issue "it's not that this year or any other year is better or worse than any other for music, it's that you've become a jaded old fuck... Go and listen to your old records and leave the rest of us who are still hungry to hear new sounds and new attitudes in new contexts!"
