Twinkle was a "picture paper specially for little girls" and published weekly in the UK between 1968 and 1999, with a total of 1612 issues! It mostly contained comic strips featuring various characters such as Nurse Nancy, Dandy Lion, Sally Sweet, Witch Winkle, Goody Gumdrops, Molly and her Dollies and Patty Pickle (they liked alliteration!) The comic would often have a paper doll to cut out, some puzzles and a Twinkle Club letters page too. When I was writing this post I actually realised I have that free hairbrush from the ad!
